24 June 2018. The Men’s Fellowship of Garrison Methodist Presbyterian Church (GMPC) has celebrated its 31st Anniversary under the theme “Jesus, The Lord over Our Storm” on Sunday 24 June, 2018 at the church premises in Burma Camp.
Major Daniel Sowah-Quarcoo who preached on the theme quoted from Mark 4: 35-41 and 2 Corinthians 6:4-10, emphasized that afflictions did occur in every man’s life, however, the experiences gained on the process should be used to change their worlds.
He mentioned that storms occurred to humble, keep men on their knees and make them submit to the purpose of God. He said “storms make man experience the faithfulness of God and make man dependent on God.”
He encouraged everyone to look up to God during the stormy seasons and said “with Christ in your vessel you will smile at the storm.”
The Chairman of United Men’s Fellowship, Bro Bright Sackitey congratulated the GMPC Men’s Fellowship for coming this far as a group and said 31 years was not an easy journey. He urged the group to keep the fire burning and entreated the newly inducted executives to bring one person each to the fellowship.
There was an Appeal for Funds to support the activities of the Fellowship. Representatives from various Men’s fellowship graced the occasion.
The Fellowship meets every Wednesday at 1700hrs to mobilize men and contribute to the growth of the church. The group organizes activities such as Bible Studies, holds talk shows on matters concerning men. The Fellowship is affiliated to GA Presbytery and participates in other Men’s Conferences.
