20 May 2018. A passing out religious parade has been held for Basic Infantry Training Course 2/2017 on Sunday 20 May, 2018 at the Army Recruit Training School (ARTS).
The Guest of Honour for the parade, Director of Army Training School, Colonel FN Tei encouraged the recruits not to relent in their efforts of professionalism but continue to strive for higher laurels.
Colonel FN Tei noted that recruits must desist from engaging in partisan politics or be seen on political platforms during electioneering campaigns. He added that the military is a neutral arbiter and must avoid all unprofessional acts and conducts that is likely to bring the name of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) into disrepute.
Director of Army Training School indicated that the young men and women who may pass out come Thursday 31 May, 2018 have not been trained to undertake one-man operations or land guard duties but rather to help enhance the image, reputation and the development of GAF.
He congratulated the recruits for coming this far and edged them to be focused to adhere and follow command instructions and remember that throughout their military career and life they should remember that there is a mighty hand that shapes their destiny hence must continue to seek that might of God.
Col Tei concluded by advising the recruits to eschew the “We near Go” syndrome which breeds complacency. He encouraged them to be disciplined as GAF has a well-structured set of laws and regulations to ensure discipline.
