27 April 2018. A 30-member delegation from the Nigerian Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Senior Course 40 in Jaji, have paid a one week African study tour to Ghana from Monday 23 April to Friday, 27 April, 2018 under the theme ‘Agricultural development and National Security.’
The Leader of the Delegation Commodore Danjuma Habsu Moses inspected a quarter guard mounted by the Ghana Navy at the Command gate in honour of him. He was then received by the Chief of Staff (COS), Rear Admiral Beick-Baffour on behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Obed Boamah Akwa.
The delegation was briefed on the aims, roles, organization, functions of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC).
Also, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Defence, Honourable Dominic Nitiwul at the Square. Additionally they visited Ministry of Tourism, the National Security Secretariat, the National Development Planning Commission as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, where they were briefed on the roles, vision and mission, structure, objectives and activities of the Ministries especially in the field of Agricultural development and National Security in Ghana.
Again, the delegation visited the Volta River Authority (Akosombo), the Cocoa Processing Company, the Elmina Castle, Blue Skies Ghana Limited in Nsawam and the Golden Exotics Limited in Asutsuare where they were educated on the importance, vision, mission and the historical backgrounds and their activities.
Later, the CDS hosted a dinner at the Air force Officers Mess for the delegation which was graced by the Commandant of the Nigerian AFCSC Air Vice Marshal LS Alao who showed appreciation to GAF.
