20 April 2018. Medical Service Personnel of Ghana Battalion 5 (GHANBATT 5) deployed to United Nations Mission in South Sudan has made a donation to Arakan Medical Centre on Friday 20 April, 2018.
Senior Medical Officer with UNMISS GHANBATT 5, Lieutenant (GN) Mahama-Toure says this was a contribution from troops deployed to UNMISS to pay their quota to one of the medical centres in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
The items donated costs $1600. The items include: 5 bedside lockers, 2 wheel chairs, 2 digital blood pressure apparatus, 1 fingertip pulse oximeter, 1 air conditioner, 2 buckets of coral paint and 1 kettle for the maternity ward.
Nursing Officer in Charge (NOIC) of Medical Centre Pool- Burma Camp, Lieutenant Colonel Patience Owusu-Aidoo received the items on behalf of the medical personnel’s at Arakan. She expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for the items donated and thanked all medical personnel’s of UNMISS GHANBATT 5.
