CAS Commissions VAG District Office

29 March 2018.   The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Maxwell Mantsebi-Tei Nagai has commissioned the newly constructed District Office of the Veterans Administration, Ghana (VAG) on Thursday, 29 March 2018, at the Air Force Base Takoradi.

The new edifice was constructed to replace the old dilapidated one and also aid in the smooth running and administrative component of the Sekondi-Takoradi Branch of VAG.

Speaking at the event, AVM Mantsebi-Tei Nagai recounted the chronological journey of ensuring the success of the project and added that, the seemingly uphill task amid resource mobilization constraints was however completed on time by the contractor Tonydollyken Enterprise.

He further thanked the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen OB Akwa and all stakeholders who contributed in diverse ways towards the completion of the project.

On his part, the Guest of Honour, Maj Gen Clayton Yachee (rtd) commended the CDS, CAS and the Air Force Headquarters for proving funds for the project.

In addition Maj Gen Yachee entreated the executives to put the office to good use to promote the welfare of VAG members in the Sekondi-Takoradi District.

As part of his one day working visit, AVM Nagai had a tour around the Base to check on various ongoing projects.

He and his entourage made a stopped at the Air Force Base Medical center to unveil some lab equipment. From there the group followed up to inspect an ongoing project at the Air Force Recruit Training School, accommodation facilities, as well as the 2 Garrison Cemetery which was being encroached.

At the Air Force Officers’ Mess, wings presentation ceremony was held for five officers who had completed their training and qualified to be Pilots. The recipients of the wings were Fg Offr Donald Bonsi, Fg Offr Farouk Anafo, Fg Offr Emmanuel Kelley, Fg Offr Benjamin Hermann and Fg Offr Isaac Antieme.
