The High Commissioner of Pakistan, Nigeria, Maj Gen Waqar Ahmad Kingrani (Rtd) has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen Obed Boamah Akwa at his office in Burma Camp on Wednesday 3 July 2019.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss matters of interest on military training and cooperation between Pakistan and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
In his welcome address, the CDS stated that the West African sub-region was faced with crime such as terrorism thus called for support and expertise from Pakistan to counter the menace.
For his part, Maj Gen Waqar (Rtd) pledged his country’s support for GAF in the fight against terrorism and other crimes assuring the CDS that efforts were being put in place to outline exchange programmes with GAF to support the cause.
He was accompanied by the Consular-General of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan based in Ghana, Hon Kwame Nartey.
