Gemini Life Insurance Company Ltd (GLICO) has presented some medical equipment to the Ghana Air Force on Tuesday 12 May 2020 at the Air Force Base, Accra.
The benevolent gesture was aimed at complementing the good work being done at their various Medical Reception Stations (MRS) and to help curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Items presented were made up of a Diagnostic Set, Suturing Set, Resuscitation Set, Patient Monitor, Infrared Thermometer, Examination Bed and 5 Hospital beds.
In her address, the Managing Director of GLICO, Mame Dufie Acheampong-Kyei Obeng specified that, the donation sought to resonate the notion that her Company remained a dedicated partner of the Air Force in their quest to fight COVID-19.
Mame Dufie Acheampong-Kyei Obeng assured that, GLICO would continue to offer support towards uplifting the Air Force Bases, especially Air Force Base Tamale, in this perilous times.
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Frank Hanson on his part commended the Managing Director and her entourage for their generous gesture and added that, this would go a long way to strengthen the bond that existed between the two organizations.
“Let us continue to strictly adhere to the health safety protocols such as wearing of face mask, use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer and frequent washing of hands with soap under running water,” AVM Hanson advised.
Receiving the items, the Base Commander, Air Force Base Tamale, Group Captain (Gp Capt) David Anetey Akrong thanked GLICO for their donation and placed emphasis on how the items would help improve the healthcare challenges that had bedeviled the Tamale MRS over the years.
Gp Capt Akrong however assured the donors that, the items would be used for the purpose for which they were donated and ultimately be of benefit to the Air Force Base Tamale, 69 Airborne Force and the Community at large.
