Lt Col Frempong Manso has resumed command as the newly appointed Commanding Officer (CO) of the Base Workshop Unit during a handing over and taking over ceremony at the Base Workshop Unit, Burma Camp on Friday, 7 February 2020.
In his remarks, the outgoing CO Colonel Henry Kwesi Nditsi urged the incoming CO to be focused and also achieve more success than he did as well as maintaining the standard he set for the Unit.
Outlining his successes during his tenure, Col Nditsi said despite the various challenges he met as a CO, his greatest success was when the Independence Parade was taken from the South to the North. He noted how stretched the Unit was and however commended the Military High Command for its intervention in providing equipment and logistics.
Col Nditsi also mentioned another success he chalked when the Unit received new vehicles that were turned into amour vehicles to the teeth units among others. He Commended Officers, Men and Civilian Employees of the Unit for their hard work, dedication and support they accorded him and urged them to extend same to the incoming CO.
He showed appreciation to the Military High Command for the power invested in him as the CO, the German Armed Forces for their diverse support to the Unit and all other stakeholders for their various support.
For his part, the incoming CO, Lt Col Frempong accepted the responsibility to serve with all his heart and asked God to be his helper. He said he considered it as a great honour and privilege and will live to the task given him diligently.
Present at the ceremony were the Commander, Support Services Brigade Group, Brigadier General Stanley Alloh, Director General, Logistics Brig Gen Osei Owusu and other Senior Officers.
