The Military Academy and Training School (MATS) has on Friday 10 December 2020, embarked on a health walk with the main of sensitizing personnel on the need to adopt healthy lifestyles.
The 3.8 kilometers health walk commenced at the Ghana Trade Fair forecourt at La through the La Palm-Kpeshie highway and ended at the Officer Cadet Mess in Whistler barracks at Teshie where the participants engaged in aerobics to crown the day.
The health walk which was led by the Commandant MATS, Maj Gen William Omane Agyekum, brought together 400 participants drawn from the various school under the MATS formation, families of personnel and civilian employees of the command. Personnel from the Armed Forces Music Training Schools provided music to boost the morale of all participants.
In his address, Maj Gen William Omane Agyekum expressed his deepest appreciation to all personnel for remaining resolute and professional during the year under review.
He noted that Command could not have achieved its mandated targets without the support and hard work of personnel and therefore used the occasion to thank the Commanding Officers and officers in charge of the various training schools.
He thanked the Almighty God for ushering the Command into a new year and also commended participants for the enthusiasm and zeal they exhibited throughout the walk.
On his part, the Greater Accra Regional Director of Bank of Africa, Mr Cornelius Belbah who was the main sponsor of the MATS health walk, commended Command for the collaboration and the opportunity given to talk to personnel of the command.
He said it is the mission of the bank to serve their customers with efficiency and courtesy and also to contribute to the development of all their stakeholders.
He outlined some of the banking products to the participants and also assured existing and prospective customers to have confidence in the Bank of Africa.
