As part of the Army Week Celebration, the Ghana Army has launched its second edition of the Army Magazine named “The Soldier” during its maiden Symposium held at the Burma Hall on Tuesday, 24 September 2019 in Accra.
The Soldier with its tag line ‘Excellence in Knowledge, Integrity and Discipline’ would serve as an intellectual discourse to inform and educate the personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces as well as the general public on the undertakings of the Ghana Army. To this effect, the Chairman for the launch of “The Soldier” and Symposium, Maj Gen Nii Carl Coleman (Rtd) has called on all to contribute to the sustenance of the magazine.
The Symposium saw seasoned resource persons in the persons of Maj Gen Samuel Anum Odotei (Rtd), Col Fetus Boahen Aboagye (Rtd), Dr Kwasi Annin (KAIPTC), Mr Yaw Boadu Ayiboafo make presentations on The Ghana Army – The Past, Present and the Future Commander Perspective, Assessing the Core Values of the Ghana Army, Its Relevance In Contemporary Times, The Threats of Terrorism in Ghana, Perceived or Real and The Ghana Army – A Partner in National Development, respectively.
Plaques were presented to the panelists to show appreciation and thanked them for honouring the invitation.
The occasion was graced by the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon Maj Derrick Oduro (Rtd), the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen Obed Boamah Akwa, Service Chiefs, some Retired Service Chiefs, as well as some Senior Officers amongst others.
