The Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment (RECCE) has conducted its annual three days exercise code named “Ex-Iron Punch” from Wednesday 31 July to Friday 02 August 2019 at the Bundase Training Camp, Accra.
Speaking to AFnews, the Commanding Officer (CO) of the 1 Recce Regiment, Lt Col Kobby Ackah said the purpose of the exercise was to test troops operational readiness and also to master all the various drills involved in armoured combat.
The General Officer Commanding Southern Command, Brig Gen Nsiah-Yeboah, in the course of the training paid a visit to the troops during their range work. He congratulated them on a successful exercise.
“Ex-iron punch” is a cadre conducted annually for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) and Warrant Officers (WOs) of the Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment. The exercise included range works, dawn attack, attacking from the flanks as well as hasty attacks.
