CDS VISITS 37 MILITARY HOSPITAL

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Air Marshall Michael Samson-Oje accompanied by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Maj Gen Richard Opoku-Adusei and the  Chief of Staff (COS) Brig Gen Adeti  on Monday, 8 February 2016 visited two injured soldiers who are on admission at the Trauma and Surgical Emergency Unit (TSEU) of the 37 Military Hospital.

The visit was to see how the two soldiers Pte Christopher Semabiah and Pte Noah Sarpong were faring after they were attacked and shot by unidentified armed robbers who had laid ambush for them on the way during an Exercise known as Operation Gong- Gong in the Bole District.

The Ward In Charge of TSEU, Maj Patience Awumee, said the two injured soldiers who are on admission at the hospital were brought to the TSEU at 0200 hours on Saturday, 6 February 2016 for treatment and are responding to treatment.

Meanwhile a Staff Sergeant and a civilian woman were shot dead by the armed robbers during the same operation.

The CDS wished them a quickly recovery and also visited the dispatch rider, Staff Sergeant Kamaldeen who was involved in the pulling out ceremony of the former CDS Vice Admiral Mathew Quashie. He however used the opportunity to inspect a place earmarked for the construction of a modern kitchen for the hospital.

The Commander of the hospital Brig Gen Ralph Ametepi, the Commanding Officer  Col Adjei, the Matron of the hospital Col Mercy Yelbert, the deputy Matron Col Ivy Tamakloe and the deputy Matron Clinical Lt col Beatrice Laryea, the Senior Administrative officer Lt Col Rex Adzagba and other senior officers were present during the visit.
